Listen, inheriting your parent's house isn't all sunshine and lollipops, especially when the "sunshine" is filtered through dusty blinds and the "lollipops" are 30-year-old cracked floorboards.  That was my situation.  I moved in to renovate and sell the place, and the lounge was a disaster zone.
